Epicureanism: The Good and The Bad What is Epicureanism? Epicureanism is the “art of making keep beaming”. The philosophical system of Epicureanism was named after Epicurus, who founded the school in Athens. coincidently the school of calmness was founded at the same time in 307 B.C. The Epicurean school day followed a strict clan of core beliefs and laws. The principles of the school were utter and every disciple had to “ take c ar the maxims by heart”. Epicureans believed that if anything mat up good, then it was good. They recall themselves from the world, by doing so they invent and try to grasp the meaning of life. They look to pleasure of the approximation; they find peace in themselves. The monks, in doing so are modern day examples of Epicureans.

By living a collected and simple life, they grasp the world in a antithetic perspective than the average working person. at present’s world contains many dissimilar types of peoples. They all find different lifestyles. I see people who generally deal to seclude themselves f! rom the world. I also see people who act and coexist with the world. By definition an Epicurean devotes their life to pleasure, in my opinion this would be perceived as a hippie from the late ‘60s and early ‘70s.
